Is my video uploaded to your servers?
No, never. Your browser reads the file directly from your disk, all editing happens on your machine, and the export is written back to your disk. Our server only delivers the app itself.
Is Trimzio really free? Is there a watermark?
Yes, the editor is free with every feature included, and exports carry no watermark. A Pro tier with extras for teams and power users is planned, but the free editor stays free.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the editor and start working. There is nothing to sign up for and no email to hand over.
Which browsers work best?
Chrome and Edge give the best experience, including fast WebCodecs export and saving projects automatically to a folder. Firefox and Safari work too; there you use the regular Save project button instead of folder autosave.
What video formats can I open and export?
You can open the formats your browser can play, which covers MP4, WebM and MOV in most cases. Exports are MP4 (H.264), which plays everywhere, or WebM (VP9).
Is there a file size or length limit?
There is no artificial limit. Because nothing is uploaded, the practical limit is your own computer: very long or very high resolution footage simply needs more memory and time to export.
What happens if I close the tab in the middle of an edit?
Your session autosaves in the browser, and Trimzio offers to resume where you left off. You can also let it keep a project file on your disk updated automatically, so even a crash loses nothing.
Does it work offline?
Once the editor is loaded in your browser, the editing itself needs no connection, because everything runs locally.
Can I add music or record a voiceover?
Yes. Add MP3, WAV and other audio files on their own timeline lanes, or record narration from your microphone while the video plays.
Can I import subtitles?
Yes, .srt and .vtt files import straight onto the timeline, where you can restyle and retime them before they are baked into the export.
